USVI Hazard Mitigation & Resilience Plan Town Hall Meetings

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) and the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) encourage community members to attend a series of upcoming public town hall meetings on the launch of the USVI Hazard Mitigation & Resilience Plan (HMRP).

Every five years, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires states and territories to update their Hazard Mitigation Plan. The HMRP presents a series of strategies for the USVI to reduce risks and quickly recover from the hazards it has been enduring for centuries.

UVI & VITEMA seek to enhance and build supportive arrangements between planners, citizens, and Territorial agencies through this approach. These statements of need are presented for your review, and residents attending the sessions will have the opportunity to provide input to define a pathway for risk reduction and resilience.
